B-town actor Meenakshi Dixit of the Dookudu item number fame will be seen in the role of a princess in her next film Devaraya. “Such roles are rare to come by and I think I have done justice to it, in terms of looks and performance as it’s a period story about a renowned kingdom,” says the actor, who has refused a few item numbers
for meaty roles instead. “My first love is acting and not dancing, so
it’s better to do roles that have scope for performance. I may do an
exciting item song once in a while,” she adds. After Parvathi Menon and Swetha Bharadwaj, another hottie gives up item numbers for acting offers.
